Features of the Power Step Folding Retractable Stair System:
There are over 200 FRS Systems installed and in operation since its introduction in 2003. Some of the early units have exceeded 40000 machine hours.
The Power Step FRS System was designed for large shovels and excavators including the Hitachi, Liebherr, Caterpillar and Komatsu makes.
The design includes its own power pack; a 24V DC motor coupled to a hydraulic pump that actuates the two hydraulic cylinders; a linkage folds the stair into two sections and the hydraulic cylinders raise and lower the stair.
Audible and visual alarms can be set inside the operator's cab or at the stair's handrail (or both).
In light of the popularity of the design and the age of some the early FRS systems; Power Step introduced a service exchange programme for this type of stair design. So when mine planners schedule a major machine overhaul; the complete access system can be removed and sent to Brisbane to be exchanged for a certified rebuilt unit.
The same applies also for the Power Packs.
So contact your nearest Power Step representative to enquire about the "FRS" system service exchange programme.
