They are co-moulded and elastomer parts that function as liquid tight plugs with an IP 67/68 rating, yet can be pierced by round wire, cable or tubing to function as liquid tight bushings with the same resulting IP 67/68 rating.
Once pierced, the liquid tight bushing converts raw edged holes to smooth, neat, insulated holes. When used as a liquid tight bushing, the HEYCo-molded Liquid Tight Break-Thru Plug insulates and mechanically protects electrical and telecommunications cable, tubing, hose, rope and utility lines.
HEYCo-molded Liquid Tight Break-Thru Plugs have locking fingers that snap easily into holes with only fingertip pressure in fractional increments up to the maximum panel thickness.
These plugs withstand a push back force of greater than 35 pounds and are available in multiple sizes for use in .500" (12.7mm) to 1.093" (27.8mm). They are for use in panels as thin as .020" (0.5mm) and as thick as .063" (1.6mm). Heyco will be developing parts for thicker panels in the near future.
HEYCo-molded Liquid Tight Break-Thru Plugs are made from Nylon 6/6 and TPE, are IP 67/68, have an HB flammability rating and have a temperature rating of 40°C to 100°C.
