One of our customers, a leader in the soft furnishings industry, with over 40 years of experience, approached Gateway Packaging to address challenges in their new, larger, state of the art warehouse. They faced rising pallet volumes and operational bottlenecks due to the limitations of their current equipment. With a high quantity of pallets being wrapped and dispatched daily, they needed a more efficient automated system to reduce operator input and improve throughput.
Gateway Packaging conducted a thorough assessment of the customer’s existing processes and equipment, which included site visits to assess their requirements, and to take measurements and discuss potential solutions. After evaluating the workflow, Gateway Packaging recommended the Paxum® S300 Fully Automatic Inline Pallet Wrapping Machine as the ideal solution for automating their pallet wrapping process and enhancing productivity.
The end result was a fully automated packing line, incorporating two Paxum® S300 machines, a fully integrated powered conveyor system, up to 300% Pre-stretch ratio on the machines, and full SIEMENS PLC controls, ensuring efficient wrapping, material savings, and optimal load containment. The packing line seamlessly integrated into their packaging process, reducing operator involvement and boosting overall efficiency.
Following implementation, the customer saw increased throughput, reduced labour costs, and consistent wrapping quality. This automated system allows the workforce to focus on other critical tasks, further improving warehouse operations.
