Wika Diaphragm Monitoring System | Diaphragm ...
Diaphragm seals enable measuring instruments for pressure, differential pressure and absolute pressure to be adapted to even the harshest of tasks. They come in many designs, are compatible with the majority of pressure measuring instruments and can be made of various highly resilient materials. Isolating diaphragm seal systems on pressure monitoring devices such and pressure gauges, transmitters and switches are an important barrier to protect the process as well as protecting the measuring instrument.
The diaphragm seal and instrument together form a hydraulic system which transmits the pressure from the process to be displayed on the instrument. During operation of the process, if there is a failure of the diaphragm the process will enter the hydraulic system and the instrument will continue to display the process pressure. There is no apparent indication of a problem, unless the diaphragm is physically inspected.
The WIKA diaphragm monitoring system uses a double diaphragm to detect failure of the first layer of protection and physically indicate an impending problem, which can be rectified before contamination of the process occurs, or a hazardous process enters the environment.
The double diaphragm system is available in most common diaphragm seal designs, included the most common flanged design.
