What is a guide castor?

Guide castors are often used in conveying systems, mechanical and plant engineering and many other areas. They may be used to transport heavy loads along rails, for example.

Treads made of polyurethane or plastic allow the castors to run easily, making the guidance and conveying equipment easy to operate.

The guide castors can be used indoors and outdoors, in cold, hot or damp conditions. They are also well suited for withstanding dynamic loads.

Guide castors: Design and function

The design and function of a guide castor depends on various factors. These include the type of guidance and the goods being conveyed. For this reason, these castors differ with regard to castor diameter, bearing type, lengths, axle ends and more. There are vertical guide castors, for example, that are used for very large items. Guide castors with a tapered thread are another option. These are often used for lifts.

TENTE’s guide castors are available in many versions for various applications. The high load capacity of each castor makes it easy to transport even the heaviest loads. The stated load capacity corresponds to test conditions at a speed of 0.6 m/s.

Special castors with electrical conductivity and special dimensions are also possible.
