The hollow rod cylinder uses an expandable jaw system that grips the pulling mandrel and subsequently the tube for continuous pulling rates up to 2 meters per minute for tube from 5/8 to 1 1/4 inch.

When the pulling cylinder reaches the end of its travel it is manually released and then retracted for the next pull cycle. This process is repeated until the tube is free and able to be pulled by hand. The cylinder can then be removed from the tube or left in position whilst the tube is extracted. If the tube binds the cylinder can be used to free the tube.
