Bestech Australia introduces DA120 tension/ compression strain sensor by ME-Systems in Germany is built as a closed construction and therefore can be used under rough environmental conditions.  The sensor is suitable for measurement of strain and force on machine elements and components.

This strain sensor has the nominal measurement range of ±1 mV/V and one of the highest output signals with 0.2 accuracy class.  It needs supply voltage of 2.5…12 V.  It only reacts to tensile and compressive forces in its longitudinal axis.  Forces that are vertical to the longitudinal axis are mostly compensated. 

These strain sensors have various applications such as, monitoring of force, fill level measurement and strain recording of components. 

Signal, temperature behaviour and conversion factor depend on the geometry and the material pairing and therefore the calibration is carried out by subjecting the component to a known force.
