So that means you can vary the height, depth and length of your tank to suit your available space. We can even provide rectangular edges on our tanks to give them a unique look – or to help you get a little more capacity for your available space. The extensive range of Colorbond® colours also enables you to match or contrast your rainwater tank with the colours of your home.

Turning Your Steel Slimline Water Tanks into a rainwater Harvesting System

When you install a rainwater tank around your home there are a few simple rules you need to follow in order to be able to capture as much rainwater as possible and to ensure that the quality of your harvested water is as good as it can be.

Here are some simple guidelines to follow to ensure you get as much rainwater as possible and it is the highest possible quality:

try to place your tank in a central location to get as many downpipes connected to it as possible
check the roof area feeding each downpipe and try to optimise the roof area capturing water for your tank (more downpipes do not necessarily mean the largest catchment area)
ensure your rainwater tank has a high quality stainless steel mesh inlet
install a first flush rainwater diverter or rainheads to remove any debris the water delivers from your roof – or ideally install both
Ensure you have a quality pump (must have stainless steel componentry for longer life) from a reputable manufacturer
If you are using your rainwater for drinking water, install an in-line water filter between the rainwater tank and your taps.
