Speedhouse Group Reduces Labor Force 50% & Increases Productivity 300%

Serving the construction industry since 1974, Speedhouse Group has grown steadily from 50 to 2000 employees to date.

They switched their offering from timber to steel framing in 2010 by investing in their first x2 FRAMECAD systems.  Speedhouse Group’s focus is mainly providing developers with prefabricated and modular solutions, spanning across the Middle East and North Africa.

The company currently has x6 FRAMECAD systems (x5 ?F325iT and x1 TF550H), ranging in profiles from 63mm to 150mm and gauges from 0.55 to 2.0mm. There is minimal downtime when it comes to servicing and maintenance. These systems give the team the flexibility and capability to be able to plan projects well ahead of time. They also have the ability to cover most applications of steel framing. Such as modular units, luxury villas, labour accommodation, pods, façade and large span trusses.

All construction is done offsite and onsite installation is quick and easy due to the design-led approach.  By using this methodology, waste is at a minimum and the light weight of the steel, means that large and heavy machinery and equipment are not required.

Michel Hana, General Manager of Speedhouse Group said, “Being able to automate our manufacturing process has enabled us to reduce our labour force by 50% and increase productivity 300%. A key indicator of success!”

Using steel framing also known as light gauge steel (LGS) and cold formed steel (CFS) framing has allowed the company to expand across many sectors such as oil and gas and disaster relief as well as construction.

Michel commented, "Speed of construction from negotiation to handover has proven to be quicker by 40-60% in many projects. Moving to CFS gave us the confidence to take on more technically challenging and fast-tracked jobs, without the FRAMECAD system and support we would not be where we are today!”

“Cold formed steel framing is the future of the construction industry.  We are only in the beginning stages. Moving forward I see an increase in permanent buildings, ?mid-rise and modular construction taking advantage of this technology.” Michel added.
