Sustarin® H is an Acetal Homopolymer which was first commercialised by DuPont de Nemours in 1960 and trademarked as DELRIN®.
Description

Sustarin® H is a crystalline thermoplastic made by the polymerisation of formaldehyde resulting in a material that has a slightly higher stiffness, tensile strength and creep resistance to SUSTARIN® C Copolymer.
Its limited resistance to long-term use in steam and boiling water restricts the use of SUSTARIN®H.
Semi-finished parts made from SUSTARIN®-H can be drilled, turned and milled in the same way as Sustarin®-C.
SUSTARIN®-H Acetal Homopolymer can be characterised by the following properties:

High mechanical strength and stiffness
Excellent dimensional stability
Good impact strength
Good wear resistance
Good sliding properties
Low water absorption
Resistant to fuels and solvents
Meets EU & FDA requirements for food contact applications
Is not self extinguishing and burns with a clear flame
Fields of application: gears, sliding parts, bearings, impellers, pump parts, valve parts, feed screws, food industry components, bushes, cams.
