Based in South Australia, Asurco is a specialist cladding company that has been operating around Australia for over 40 years. Their primary areas of expertise are Glass Reinforced Cement (GRC), Fibre Cement, Alucobond, Alpolic & Exotec Cladding including similar products and Toilet & Shower Partitions.
The Challenge
After receiving a direct lead from John Sullivan of Asurco, A Pacific Hoists member did a site visit to Barangaroo Underground Walk. The hoists, assembly arms and pipe trolleys were used by Asurco to lift into place the underground walkway wall fabrication linings. The walkway was under construction for 2-3 years at the time with very little known information to the general public.

Operation successful – Construction of the Underground Walkway was shortly opened after Pacific Hoists' contribution and has since been completely finished. The addition of the walkway has reduced congestion on CBD footpaths, particularly in the Barangaroo and Wynyard area of the CBD.
